About

{IN}TANGIBLE was awarded the Bindlestiff Family Cirkus's First of May Grant in 2020 to initiate its development. With a script and concept art, Brianna Kalisch (playwright), brought on composer Ruby Fulton to create an original score. Director Sarah Davey-Hull joined the team and in the midst of the covid-19 shutdown oversaw the direction of two online readings via zoom; first for industry only, then open to the public.

In 2022 Allison Clendaniel joined the composing team and Brianna was selected as a Brooklyn Arts Council grantee. With the BAC funding Brianna produced a series of shows that created an opportunity to workshop the score with circus movement. With heavy hearts the creative team said goodbye to Sarah Davey-Hull who left an indelible mark on the project.

In 2023 {IN}TANGIBLE was selected for a two week developmental residency at ArtYard in Frenchtown, NJ and was the recipient of the Puffin Foundation GrantDirector Felicity Hesed led the workshop and a cast of actor/circus artists including: Diane Perell, Sherese Parris, Mikayla Dinsdale, Tim Canali, and Maks Turner.

In 2024 with enthusiastic feedback from our workshop audience and joined by Cynthia Shaw in the leading role, {IN}TANGIBLE received its world premiere in celebration of the 10th Anniversary of the  Dementia Society of America®.
